The Electronics & Embedded Systems Export Support Program is a strategic initiative launched by ITIDA-EME to accelerate the growth of Egypt's electronics design and embedded systems sectors. In cooperation with the Export Development Fund (EDF), the program provides financial cash incentives to local and international firms in Egypt, boosting their export sales and expanding their global footprint.

The Electronics & Embedded Systems Export Support Program is a strategic initiative launched by ITIDA-EME to accelerate the growth of Egypt's electronics design and embedded systems sectors. In cooperation with the Export Development Fund (EDF), the program provides financial cash incentives to local and international firms in Egypt, boosting their export sales and expanding their global footprint.


Program Objectives
 


This initiative empowers local and international companies specializing in electronics design and embedded systems development to scale their international sales and enhance their global competitiveness. Because electronics design exports feature a remarkably high local added value exceeding 90%, scaling this sector is vital to attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) and encouraging multinational enterprises to establish operations in Egypt. Ultimately, theprogram enables local and international tech firms to to expand their capacities, grow their workforces, and multiply their export capabilities.


Target Beneficiaries
 


To qualify for the Export Support Program, applicants must be registered Egyptian companies operating within the following segments (including related outsourcing services):

 
Electronics Design Companies: Semiconductors, Electronic Circuits & Systems, Sensors, and Micro-Electromechanical Systems (MEMS).
 
Embedded Systems Companies: Embedded Systems Design & Development, Automotive Software, and Robotics Systems.

Program Benefits
 
 
Performance-Based Cash Incentive: Eligible companies receive a cash incentive equal to 20% of the year-over-year increase in the value of their collected export proceeds compared to the previous fiscal year.
 
Free Zone Adaptability: T: Companies operating under Egypt's Free Zones system are entitled to 50% of the standard calculated incentive value.
 
Official Valuation: Incentive values are calculated based on the official exchange rate announced by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) on the date of invoice issuance, disbursed directly by the Export Development Fund (EDF) following approved audit reviews.

Eligibility Criteria & Conditions
 
 
Registration: Must be a local or international electronics design or embedded systems company registered with ITIDA.
 
Employment Retention: The total number of socially insured employees during the entitlement year must not be less than that of the preceding year.
 
Contractual Timelines: Export contracts must be signed before or during 2026. For contracts initiated with advance payments in 2025 and finalized in 2026, companies must provide verified proof of service continuity (e.g., subsequent sales invoices and milestone collections).
 
Financial Transfer Compliance: Export proceeds must be transferred from the international buyer directly into the company’s corporate bank account in Egypt in foreign currency during 2026. Evaluation is strictly executed on a cash basis (not an accrual basis).
 
Explicit Exclusions: The program strictly excludes:

     o Proceeds collected in cash or deposited into personal bank accounts..

     o Proceeds retained by offshore branches or subsidiaries that are not repatriated to the company's Egyptian bank account.

     o Domestic transfers, with the sole exception of bank cheques issued by international organizations legally operating within Egypt.
 
First-Time Exporters: For companies embarking on their first export activities, financial disbursement will commence starting from the second consecutive year of active exporting.
 
Related-Party Disclosures: All exports to related business entities (sister companies, branches, or entities owned by relatives) must be fully disclosed in the application, backed by verified documentation proving final delivery to the end client.
 
Ineligible Activities: The program excludes electro-mechanical services unrelated to design/smart systems, software license reselling devoid of local development, and standalone hardware supplies (unless seamlessly embedded into a system designed and developed by the applicant).
 
Verification Rights: ITIDA retains the absolute right to demand original or supplementary documentation for auditing purposes. Discovery of data manipulation or fraudulent submissions will result in immediate disqualification and subsequent legal prosecution.

The evaluation cycle follows a structured four-stage workflow to ensure transparency and compliance:

1Announcement: Program guidelines and submission windows are officially declared.
2 Application Submission: Digital intake via the official ITIDA portal.
3 Review & Evaluation: Meticulous vetting of financial and technical metrics by ITIDA and EDF auditors.
4 Disbursement: Direct monetary distribution of incentives to compliant beneficiaries.
