Capacity building-EME Program

EME offers Capacity Building program that  involves the acquisition of specialized knowledge and skills related to the design and development of electronic systems, embedded software and integrated circuits design.
Overview

Egypt Makes Electronics (EME), a presidential initiative launched in 2015, delivers a Capacity-Building program for engineering and computer science students and grads. EME newly launched program provides practice methodologies, specialized knowledge and skills in key areas of electronic systems design and development, embedded software, and integrated circuits (IC) design

This Program aims to (a) professionally train over 12K engineers, and (b) qualify candidates to meet the highest standard of market demands in the electronics field. The Agency has partnered with major local and global educational entities to deliver these educational courses and diplomas.

Training Topics and Information

The Program leverages three specializations, namely; Professional Design, Electronics Industry (Vocational), and Industry 4.0 (digital transformation). The Program provides training tracks and topics covering:

Digital IC Design - includes training in FPGA/ASIC design and scripting EDA tools.

MEMS & Sensors - incorporates training in MEMS/NEMS technology and devices, transducer/sensors, and solid-state devices.

RF & Analog/Mixed IC Design - encompasses advanced analog IC (nano-CMOS) design, RF, and microwave design.

IC Fabrication & Characterization - covers the fabrication of nanomaterials for films and devices, testing and characterization techniques, and power/high voltage ICs.

HW System Design - involves PCB design, packaging, measurements, DFM, power systems, development lifecycle, electronics procurement, ECAD/ECAM.

Embedded Systems - comprises training in embedded automotive, smart systems, and robotics.

Electronic System Manufacturing - contains electronics assembly, SMT assembly line operation and management, and quality assurance.

Professional Master’s Degree (PMD) - offers an applied degree from an international university.

Training Format and Duration

The program is available in online and hybrid format to give learners the opportunity and flexibility to join and avail all tools and labs that can enhance their skills.

Offered Tracks will vary according to each educational partner covering embedded systems and security, and analog/digital integrated circuit (IC) design.

Duration of each track will also vary as per the educational partner. A track duration will range from 2 to 4 months.

English is the language of this training program.

Partners

EME designed this Advanced Learning Collaboration program, to consider specific and practical ways in which the Initiative, with partners, can contribute to enabling grads/undergrads to build on their capacities related to electronic systems design and development, embedded software, and integrated circuits (IC) design. Training Tracks are fully funded through highly reputable industrial and educational partners:

The American University in Cairo (AUC)

The Information Technology Institute (ITI)

The National Telecommunications Institute (NTI)
OBJECTIVES

Advanced learning in IC Design and Embedded Systems is a valuable investment for undergraduates and graduates looking to (1) develop their careers, and (2) stay up-to-date with the latest developments on the ground.

With a strong foundation in IC design and embedded systems principles, as well as specialized knowledge and skills in advanced topics, applicants can make meaningful contributions to sharpen their skill sets and carve out their careers. They can also pitch in new tech ideas and products in the constantly growing field of electronic systems technologies. Here is a list of EME key objectives:

Equip learners with specialized knowledge and skills in electronic systems design and development, and integrated circuits (IC). Such type of learning is intended for individuals who already have a foundation in the field and are looking to deepen their expertise or specialize in a particular area.

Follow and understand the latest trends and advances in IC design and embedded systems. Enable trainees to apply knowledge gained to real-world design challenges. Allow learners to build proficiency working with specific software and hardware tools used in the industry.

Introduce new contributors to the knowledge ecosystem of IC design and embedded systems in Egypt. Join a prestigious league of over 6000 highly paid engineers in +70 local and multinational companies operating in the field. Meet employers and get career advice at IC design and embedded systems jobs fairs.
