AWS AI, ML Professional Training Program Applications First Phase Results Announced

The results of the first phase of applications for the professional international certification training program, provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS), have been announced.

The program targets building technical capacities in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), capitalizing on cloud computing that helps accelerate the implementation of AI and data analysis national projects.

The training program is within the framework of the strategy of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) for contributing to implementing the State’s plan for building the Egyptian citizen.

The program, also, comes as part of the activities of “Our Opportunity..is Digital” initiative, launched by MCIT and managed by the Information Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), targeting supporting Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) specializing in ICT, and enhancing their participation in the digital transformation system, in terms of AI. This comes in line with one of the initiative’s pillars, including organizing competitions for providing training opportunities to the personnel at ICT MSMEs, to hone their skills in areas including AI and ML.

The program received a large number of applications over the last two weeks, as 346 IT personnel at the government sector and MSMEs, as well as freelancers, applied to join the program.

The applicants underwent several stages of assessment. This is to help select the best calibers that will receive training, supervised by AWS trainers, where they will be qualified to obtain AWS international professional certification and to work in local and global markets. The number of 44 applicants was selected to join the program.

MCIT is to announce assessing a new group of 150 applicants, with the training starting on August 18, 2020. The aim is to develop and qualify Egyptian calibers to obtain professional certification from major international companies that are eager to collaborate with MCIT in this field, out of their trust in the efficiency and ability of the Egyptian human resources to receive professional high-level training effortlessly.
