The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has witnessed the
signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Information Technology Industry Development Agency
(ITIDA) and NEC, an international company specializing in IT and electronics.
The aim is to enhance cooperation in digital economy and digital transformation, establish NEC Center of Excellence
(CoE) in Egypt to act as a regional hub, serving the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region through recruiting
skilled Egyptian calibers, in collaboration with ITIDA, to develop and boost the company’s operations in the region.
The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the 23rd edition of Cairo ICT, held under the auspices of President Abdel
Fattah el-Sisi, on December 1-4.
It stipulates that ITIDA and NEC cooperate in building capacities and exchanging information in ICT, including data
centers and network infrastructure solutions.
The MoU was signed by ITIDA CEO Hala El Gohary, and NEC Managing Director Tomoki Naka on behalf of the Head of
Wireless Communications at NEC Seguro Condo.
Moreover, the ICT Minister witnessed the signing of another MoU between ITIDA and Wuzzuf, for fostering startups
incubated at the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC).
The MoU stipulates that Wuzzuf provides a bundle of its specialized services for startups incubated at TIEC of
ITIDA.
The services that Wuzzuf developed under the name “Starter Pack” include announcing the jobs required by the
startups on Wuzzuf online recruitment platform, as well as selecting top applicants of the job and inviting
potential candidates.
Moreover, Wuzzuf will allow the startups to announce programs and training grants, and reach potential candidates
from students and fresh graduates, unlimitedly. It will also sponsor TIEC job fairs and activities, especially those
held at TIEC new branches, in Ismailia, Mansoura, Aswan, and at its premises in Smart Village.
This is in addition to organizing workshops and orientation sessions for startups on topics pertaining to human
resources management and acquiring the necessary skills, as well as providing technical training for TIEC Innovation
Ambassadors (TIEC-IA).
