ITIDA to organise virtual employment fair on 30 July

26 July 2022

The online fair’s goal is to bring fresh graduates and job seekers together with tech giants and world-class contact centres, the agency explained, which is the executive IT arm of the ministry.

Moreover, the employment fair will provide young people an opportunity to meet with major employers on the hunt for talent to fill thousands of vacancies, the statement said.

Throughout the fair, participants will be able to attend career path development and coaching sessions and talks by distinguished speakers, ask questions, and gain insights on career-related topics, in addition to attending instant interviews.

Various local and international companies are participating in the fair, including Webhelp Egypt, Raya Contact Centre, Majorel Egypt, UX Centres, ARB Call Facilities, Concentrix, Etisalat Global Services (EGS), Sitel Group, Xceed Contact Centre, Sutherland Egypt, Talabat, Centro CDX, Atlas Copco, Atos Egypt, Atheel Contact Centre, Microsoft Egypt, iCall Outsourcing, iSON Xperiences, Pixelogic Media, and Amazon.

A registration form needs to be filled by those who are willing to virtually attend the fair.

Over the past few years, Egypt has witnessed the inauguration of many mega development projects, as well as infrastructure projects that contributed to securing job opportunities and reducing unemployment, especially amid the high annual increase in population.

In April, the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) said Egypt’s unemployment rate recorded 7.4 percent in 2021 — a 0.5 percent decrease from 2020.

Egypt needs from 700,000 to 800,000 job opportunities each year, which can be met by the private sector, which has access to new markets and offers different types of finance, said Jihad Azour, the director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the International Monetary Fund in October.
