Certification Europe’s Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) Training Course For ITIDA Staff
IS 17799-2 and BS 7799-2 are the recognized standards for best practice in information security management systems (ISMS) within any organization. This 10-day course was custom designed for professionals within an organization with responsibility for auditing an information security management system (ISMS) or best practice in security controls. The course would also benefit external consultants and/or regulators seeking to verify the auditing activity of an information security system within client organizations. The course covered the accepted principles of auditing, and gave participants a detailed understanding of audit methodology, including, audit preparation, managing an audit team, determining compliance with the standard, interview technique, following audit trails and documenting evidence. Participates who participated in workshops and case-studies to develop their auditing technique, and learned how to handle some of the more testing situations an auditor may face. The course has been designed in keeping with international standards on auditing technique, including ISO 19011. The course also familiarized participants on the challenges of auditing IS 17799 / BS 7799 and covered all sections of the standard in detail, with tips on how to audit individual clauses, including risk assessments, business continuity and achieving continual improvement.
