National E-content Competition Award Ceremony

Under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Tarek Kamel, Minister of Communications and Information Technology and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency “ITIDA”; the Egyptian Award Ceremony for e-Content will take place on March 5th, 2007.

The ceremony will be graced with the presence of H.E. Dr. Tarek Kamel, Minister of Communications and Information Technology; Dr. Peter A. Bruck, WSA Chairman of the Board of Directors; Eng. Mohamed Omran and Dr. Sherif Hashem; whereas “ITIDA” will announce the names of the winning productions.

“ITIDA” paid undivided attention to the process of promoting the contest and concentrated its efforts on attracting youth while providing a theme of encouragement for companies, entities, and individuals to develop e-content production and explore their capabilities and creativities in various sectors in the society with the purpose of upgrading, enriching and promoting the Arabic e-content industry in Egypt. “ITIDA” dedicated to this theme of encouragement substantial financial awards.

“ITIDA” made huge efforts to engage various categories of the society and paid several visits to NGO’s, universities, and youth clubs to help spread the word about the contest. An aggressive media campaign was devised to ensure that all those concerned would get a piece of information about the e-content award.

The competition areas include e-learning, e-culture and civilization, scientific electronic applications, e-government, e-health, e-business, e-entertainment applications and e-containment.

The competition comes as part of the efforts to execute the Egyptian Information Society initiative and Egypt’s preparations to arrange for the second phase of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).

Winning productions in Egypt’s National E-content Award will be nominated to participate in the competition, held on the sidelines of the World Summit on the Information Society.
