Under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Tarek Kamel, Minister of Communications and Information Technology; the Information Technology Industry Development Agency “ITIDA” held a “Building Bridges Conference” on Scientific Research & Information Technology: A New Strategic Vision for Collaboration between the United States of America and Egypt; to honor the American Delegation from the University of California, Davis. The American delegation was headed by UC Davis Chancellor Larry Vanderhoef and the event took place on March 22, 2007 at ITIDA premises.

The purpose of the conference was to present Progress Reports and recommended actions by panels in addition to exploring potential partners and funding opportunities in collaborative initiatives in Egypt. The event witnessed the signature of two agreements of cooperation between ITIDA and UC Davis and Nile University and UC Davis.
