Egypt & Korea E- Signature & Information Security Memorandum of Understanding – 14 March, 2006
Within the framework of the Egyptian Information Society Initiative, and in order to empower and develop the regulatory and organizational framework for e-signature & its applications, Dr. Sherif Hashem the Executive VP of ITIDA ( Information Technology Industry Development Agency ) together with Mr. Yu Kil Yang the Vice President for KIPA ( Korean IT Industry Promotion Agency, have signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the area of E-Signature regulatory framework, infrastructure and applications.
This MOU will empower cooperation & experience ex-change in relation to organizing & developing the E-Signature applications, electronic business, smart cards, information security & the mechanism of fighting cyber crimes.
It is worth mentioning that ITIDA has recently started its activities in January ,2005 tat is concerned mainly with: 1) Regulating E-Signature as per the Law No. 15 for the year 2004, that covers the E-business, E-trading , and E-contracting, 2) Strengthening & developing the ICT sector in Egypt, with an aim at maximizing Egypt's ICT exports. 3) Finally, activating Law No.82 for the year 2002 that is concerned by the software & database IPR.
The Signature event was attended by official delegates from South Korea, Korean Embassy's in Egypt representatives, and MCIT representatives.

ITIDA-SECC/IBM Rational Agreement for Software Companies - 31 October, 2005
ITIDA has signed an Agreement with IBM-Egypt to purchase Rational Unified Process (RUP) tools.
Rational Unified Process (RUP) is a group of software development life cycle development tools which help development teams to improve implementation of best practices and help optimizing their effort, cost and schedule.

Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC),
