The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and Dell Technologies signed,
today, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), during Dell Technologies Forum, held on March 25, in Cairo. The MoU aims
to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, and develop capabilities of Egyptian startups, specialized in emerging
technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and Blockchain.
The MoU entails the transfer of Dell’s expertise to Egyptian youth and startups’ owners,
through a network of mentors and experts, specialized in latest technologies, including automation processes,
software development, AI, IoT, cybersecurity, and DevOps.
Experts are to provide expert advice to entrepreneurs and startups on business models and
strategies, the standards of institutions’ readiness, technology infrastructure, sustainability of applications, and
methods of archiving and managing digital files.
The MoU stipulates that the two parties cooperate in organizing a number of workshops to
raise awareness of young Egyptian calibers of modern technologies, such as AI, Blockchain, and cloud computing, in
Cairo, Alexandria, Assiut and in particular in new technology parks. The company is also committed to offer a number
of cut-price products to startups, as part of Dell Technologies entrepreneurship program.
In addition, the MoU entails organizing a startup competition in collaboration between Dell
Technologies and the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), affiliated to ITIDA. The first three
winning startups will be invited to participate in Dell Technologies World conference, which is one of the world's
leading IT events, held in Las Vegas, USA.
