Partial Fund Return Policy

Starting Round 11, the ITAC will apply a partial-fund-return policy on ARPs and PDPs as follows:

  • For ARPs: The ICT company will be required to return 10% of the ITAC fund to the project over the span of one year, which starts one year after the project closure.
  • For PDPs: The ICT company will be required to return 30% of the ITAC fund to the project over the span of two years, which starts one year after the project closure.
  • If the ICT company benefited from the ITAC fund in a previous project, the above percentages will be increased by 5% for ARPs and 10% for PDPs.
  • The ICT company should return the due amount before receiving any further support from the program.

Project Areas

Starting Round 11, only proposals within the areas listed below will be accepted:

  • Strategic Areas: Wireless and Cyber Security, ICT for Homeland Security, ICT for Transportation, ICT for Health, ICT for Agriculture.
  • Technology-Trend Areas: Mobile Applications and Computing, Cloud Computing, Contextual and Social Analytics/Experience, Internet of Things, Ubiquitous Computing, Green ICT (to be phased out in Round 12), Digital Content (to be phased out in Round 12).

Important Requirements:

  • For the first set of areas, proposals are expected to present innovative solutions to the above issues, exploiting the research power in academia and giving an edge to the partner Egyptian ICT companies. For the second set of areas (based on periodic Gartner reports), state-of-the-art academic research is expected to put Egyptian ICT companies at a distinguished position on the technology map in these areas.
  • The ITAC Program only covers the ICT component of the eligible projects. Securing separate funding for non-ICT components is a prerequisite (for example: the parts related to agriculture, health,…etc)
