Egyptian Companies Criteria

Egyptian Companies Criteria

The Egyptian ICT companies, registered or unregistered on ITIDA database, are categorized in ascending order with 2 criteria jointly: number of employees, and total revenue, according to the following table:

  • Micro: Where number of employees is between (1 – 9) and annual turnover is less than one million EGP.
  • Small: Where number of employees is between (10 – 49) and annual turnover is more than one million EGP and less than 10 million EGP.
  • Medium: Where number of employees is between (50 –249) and annual turnover is more than 10 million EGP and less than 80 million EGP.
  • Large: Where number of employees is more than 250 and annual turnover is more than 80 million EGP.

Based on the foregoing, companies are categorized by applying the two criteria jointly. In case there is a mismatch between the criteria, companies will be sorted according to every individual case. For instance, if the number of employees is less than 9 while the turnover is more than 1 million EGP, the company will be categorized as “small” not “micro” while the contrary is not applicable when the company has less than 250 employees and its turnover is less than 10 million EGP, the company will still be sorted as “medium” due to its number of employees regardless of its annual low turnover.
