The CIO Symposium recognizes leadership in the use of technology, information management, and organizational development, and honors the achievements of 100 industry-leading enterprises.

This year’s event takes place in California, USA and focuses on “Innovating for Customers, Collaboration and Cost Management.” ITIDA will be hosting a panel discussion on “Egypt: The Future of Innovation” on Wednesday, August 24 at 2.40pm. The session will be led by Dr. Tarek El-Sadany, Senior Advisor to the Minister of Communications & Information Technology of Egypt for Technology Policies and will be joined by Dr. Ahmed N. Tantawy, Director of the Egypt Nanotechnology Center being developed with IBM and Hisham Sanad, Co-founder of Egabi Solutions, an Egyptian IT services organization.

Already established as an outsourcing and off shoring destination, Egypt has invested heavily in the education and training of its workforce to lay the foundation for ICT innovation and entrepreneurship. Through the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center and initiatives like the Technology Incubation Program, Egypt has established key partnerships and collaborations with multinational companies like IBM, Orange and Microsoft.

Dr. Tarek El-Sadany will be providing an insight into Egypt’s developments in ICT innovation, and will discuss the importance of a highly technical and multi-lingual workforce, modern and safe business environment, and cost-competitive offerings and services to foster the free flow of innovation in the ICT field.
