About E-Signature Licenses
E-Signature CA
Licensing Unit is responsible for licensing a limited number of
CSPs in Egypt to provide e-signature services and issue digital
certificates and corresponding electronic signatures for
citizens and private sector companies' clients. Furthermore,
ITIDA is responsible for auditing CSPs operation within any
licensed CSP to ensure best practice.
- The E-Signature CA
Licensing Unit main Functions:
o Managing the application process for CSPs in Egypt.
o Implementing the criteria for licensing CSPs.
o Auditing process of CSPs.
o Tracking the Technology to guarantee having the most secure
e-signature technology.
- There are 4 companies have been got the license which are:-
o Advanced Computer Technology (ACT).
o Misr for Clearance , Depositary and Central Registry (MCDR) .
o Egypt Trust.
o Security & Network Services(SNS).
Note: Although the above 4 companies have got the license, they
are not able to provide e-signature services in Egypt till
getting the final approval from ITIDA. The final approval means
that the company is ready to provide services in the Egyptian
market according to ITIDA requirements.
- Commercial Licensed CSPs:
o Issue certificates to all citizens & provide devices for
e-signature.
o Must be under the Root CA.
o Provide Gov. and public E-Signature services.
o Working as RAs (Registration Authorities).
o Use the most world wide standards for Encryption.
